John Arroyo is a composer, producer and DJ and is involved with an iterative remix project called Remixin. He will discuss how music changes as it is iteratively remixed, which he calls “remix evolution” Jeremy Douglass People need affordable learning games. Worldwide, 4.1 billion people earn under $3,000 per year, meaning that even a $100 computer is often out of reach for the world’s emerging middle class. Playpower is targeting a $10 platform based on the 8-bit 6502 microprocessor that makes learning games affordable for “the other 90%.” Playpower designs high quality learning games, conducts field trials to confirm that they work, and fosters collaborations between game designers, cognitive scientists and NGOs.
- PLAYPOWER | learning games for radically affordable computers – We support affordable, effective, fun learning games. We’re starting with an existing $10 TV-computer as a platform for learning games in the developing world.
- Software: Nestopia – Nestopia is the current king of the NES emulation hill. It uses highly optimized cycle exact emulation, allowing it to run titles that rely on precise timing, many of which break under inferior emulators. This accurate emulation does come at a cost; Nestopia requires a minimum of a 600MHz machine for full speed; but if you have one, this the best available NES emulation for Mac.
- The Emulator Zone – Nestopia – Nestopia is one of the best Nintendo/Famicom emulators available, it’s an open source emulator and it gets updated frequently. The Windows port has been completely rewritten from scratch, which means it has been improved, also the emulation core has changed completely. It has a great game compatibility list and the supported controllers make this emulator a nice option for playing your favorite games

Through actions like Introduce Object, Shirt ‘Em and Cameo Appearance you can interact with Selfcontrolfreak, right on the canvas! This will add new animation to the time-lapse movie and get you a one-off hi-res image of one of your animation’s frames, created and signed by Baschz.

- Gladwell on Tiger Woods, Nick Faldo’s 9-Iron and Moral Hazard – bobgable’s posterous – So if you always bail out the banks when they take absurd risks and do stupid things, they are going to keep on taking absurd risks and doing stupid things. Bailouts create moral hazard. Moral hazard is also why your health insurance has a co-pay. If your insurer paid for everything, the theory goes, it would encourage you to go to the doctor when you really don’t need to. No economist in his right mind would ever endorse the football and basketball drafts the way they are structured now. They are a moral hazard in spades. If you give me a lottery pick for being an atrocious GM, where’s my incentive not to be an atrocious GM?
